"Separate Ways" was number 20 on the Hot 100 charts on December 2nd 1972, it stayed on the charts for twelve weeks, as well as twelve weeks on the Country charts, where it entered at number 10 on December 16th. "Always On My Mind" entered the Country charts on December 9th at the number 10 position, the song remained on the Country charts for thirteen weeks.

In December 1972 RCA (RCA 2304) released this 45 in the UK, it would go on and reach the number 9 slot on the charts after it entered on December 16th 1972 with a 13 week chart run.
